From the Water Poet to Shoreditch's loudest comedy room.
City Comedy Club started in 2018 at the Water Poet, a historic pub with a great room — legally a 60-seater, though we may have accidentally gone over once or twice. When the pub was sold to developers, we played our last night there with most of the chairs already gone. We offered everyone without a seat a refund. Every single one of them stayed and watched the comedy standing.
Today we're downstairs at the Trapeze, a nightclub one minute from Old Street station. A great low-ceiling room, 150 seats, a cosy atmosphere, and a guaranteed good view in an intimate venue.
